LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
Our culture of learning and development aims at retaining employees and developing a sustainable talent pipeline to assist Sun International in achieving its strategic objectives. Using assessment and innovative learning methodologies, our learning programmes enable us to understand our talent and enhance and accelerate skills within the organisation so that our people grow as the organisation transforms.

Opportunities for international work opportunities and exchange assignments give our team members and leaders scope to grow their skills in managing diverse workforces and working within different cultures from Latin America, into Africa and around all provinces within South Africa.
At Sun International learning is more than training: it is about embedding a learning culture. This is achieved with 70% of learning happening on the job, 20% through coaching, and 10% through instructor-led training.
In an organisation that is driven by performance, people drive their own development and advancement. It is the Manager’s role to coach and support development. Providing feedback and empowering one’s staff are viewed as critical management skills.
We invest in capability development by focusing on:
Functional skills training in Gaming and Hospitality (where we can have the biggest impact on the customer and on differentiation);
Leadership behaviour and management skills (where we can have the biggest impact on people engagement and culture).
Our approach to Learning and Development design and delivery is informed by best practice content and relevance. Placement test will be done.
