Register with Excell Welders for Metal Inert Gas(MIG) Course also known as CO2 that focus on the use of gas, an electric arc and a consumable wire electrode to join two metals together.
Course outline:
Understand the equipment, process and the gas shielded metal arc welding technique
Operate a portable grinder
Carry out:
Flat position welding
Straight run welding
Weaving
Butt-joint welding
Fillet joint welding
Vertical up butt-joint welding
Horizontal vertical butt-joint welding
Setting of the different current settings on types of welds

Purpose of the course:
-To train the student to weld metal much more quickly than traditional "stick welding" techniques and to use the complex MIG welding equipment.
-To train the student to adapt to welding softer metals such as aluminium using semi inert gases such as carbon dioxide which can be a cost effective method.
Duration of the MIG/CO2 Welding Course - 4 Weeks of full practical training
Materials used: Stainless steel, Carbon Steel; Mild Steel; Duplex; Titanium; Aluminium
