Reporting to the Actuarial Manager in the Actuarial Department.
Melrose, Gauteng

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree (BComm/BSc) or related degree
Experience in the financial services sector is essential
Sound numerical and computer literacy skill are necessary with a working knowledge of the MS-office packages, specifically excel capabilities.
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SAS etc)
Knowledge of SQL would be advantageous
Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst
Demonstrate experience in analysis and presentation of data required.
Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files, including large and complex files: analyzing file structure, using and creating file layouts, transforming raw data into finished products.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities include:
Perform high quality data processing and reporting.
Interpreting data, analysing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports.
Developing and implementing databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
Conducting full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design. Data analysts will develop analysis and reporting capabilities. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.
Responsible for Data Governance, and Generating Management Information.
